Yesterday as I was speaking, the subject was Peter and his lack of understanding of leadership. Although not unique to Peter, he seems particularly dense on the concept of servant leadership. Even as Jesus displays the method in front of and for Him, Peter doesn't get it.
God has a sense of humor.
The message ended and the people had left. A few things were left undone. The last thing to be done was to take out the trash. As I collected the trash bags I was lamenting why I the "Pastor" had to take out the trash? I'm supposed to lead these people NOT take out the trash.
God must have chuckled at that!
Evidently, I don't get servant leadership either!
I understand it a little better now!
