Well it has been one month today since my last post. So, here goes another one.
Sunday, we used as an example the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Washington, D.C. A solemn and inspiring place of honor and respect for all of those who paid the ultimate price for freedom and this country. The sentinels keep watch 24/7 365 days a year with utmost precision, respect and honor for the duty and the fallen. I have been there it is something to witness.
As I finished presenting the message Sunday I have been reminded daily that those guards walk 21 steps, wait 21 seconds, turn and walk 21 steps before a tomb filled with remains of men. They honor their memory. As a follower of Jesus I have a tomb with NO remains, a cross with no victim hanging on it, a savior who is alive and well. My honor and respect is for the living not the dead. How much more devotion does a living hero deserve than dead ones? Can I walk the same ever again?
My walk MUST be different. A cross and an empty tomb DEMAND it.
