I really must get out more often...

Saturday night I heard this song for the first time. I do know why I have not heard it. I don’t listen to the radio much. The one in my head plays all the time. That is another article for sure. When I do I don’t listen to commercial stations usually Air1 (88.1) or His Radio (91.9). So, with that said I heard this for the first time. The presentation was a parody of sorts but the lyrics of the chorus are something. I am still trying to figure that out (what they are that is).

The song by Bruno Mars is titled Grenade. The chorus is as follows:

Honestly by the second chorus I was laughing at the words. This is my opinion and mine alone how stupid! Kick her/him to the curb. Who needs a love like that? But really, who would do any of those things? Oh yeah, it is romantic but really? I know I am rambling, but you know how bad seafood hangs in there way to long after you have eaten it? So has this chorus hung in my brain. I just can’t get rid of it. Then it hit me upside of my head. Jesus could sing this.

Yep, I said Jesus could sing this maybe like this.

I am reading in Romans Chapters 12-15. Paul very clearly speaks of what Christ’s love looks like. Following Valentine’s Day love does not look like that. I mean really. Catch a grenade for someone we love? Most of the time we won’t give them the time of day. Heaven help us if they said something bad about us or whatever. Catch a grenade, jump on a cross not in this world. Praise be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He would and did for ya. He loved like heaven loves that “while I was yet a sinner Christ died for me,” when I wouldn’t do the same the lyric goes!

I/we need more grace.
More grace to spread around to apply to all I come in contact with daily. Maybe to learn to love like Jesus.
I wrote this earlier today, “Love of neighbor is not based on their behavior but on our Savior.”
Yep it rhymes.
Maybe Bruno Mars could use that!
